633 - Arisaema (Wild) - 2007-02-27 (Dimension: 670 x 530 pixels - Counter: 5025) Arisaema Photographer: Ken Mosher Note: These photos were taken in the Philippines. Guy wrote: The photo you have in hand shows a puzzling plant if taken in the Philippines! The spathe reminds of a SINARISAEMA. consanguineum-like. There is one Sinarisaema in the Philippines called Arisaema polyphyllum, but the spathe is always dark red, white striated! To my knowledge, the presence of a green spathe of A. polyphyllum has never been reported. This suggests a lot of questions: Is this a photo of a plant collected in the wild, in the Philippines? Have you information about the leaf? Are there more photos, you sent one only, of the spathe? In any event, I am afraid it is not A. yunnanense because of the spadix. The second species present in the Philippines, A. laminatum, is completely different. (Click on the picture to enlarge) |
