3513 - Arisaema (Garden) - 2012-08-14 (Dimension: 2030 x 1550 pixels - Counter: 9981) Sauromatum venosum (Uploaded as: amorphopallus ) Locality: New Zealand Photographer: John Speed Note: This appeared un-introduced in my asparagus patch 6 or 7 years ago. I thought it was an arisaema judging by the spotted stem and single tri-lobed leaf. However it flowered two years ago and certainly surprised me. About 3 or 4 leaves grew last year but only the one flower at about 60 cm tall. I decided to lift the tuber this season and was again surprised to find about 30 "bulbs", the largest being over a kilo. I have no idea what it is or where it came from. If any New Zealand members would like a tuber or two please contact me. (Sent: Arisaema-l@science.uu.nl) Identification: solved (Click on the picture to enlarge)
