2759 - AlpenPix (Garden) - 2010-12-02 (Dimension: 2318 x 1762 pixels - Counter: 5787) Polemonium pauciflorum ssp. hinckleyi Locality: USA - Arizona & Texas - Mountain View Experimental Gardens, Peak 7 area, Breckenridge, Colorado, elevation 10,000 feet, USDA Zone 4. Photographer: Jane Hendrix Note: Like other Polemoniums, this one is easy to grow. It stands at about 8 to 12 inches in full bloom and blooms for me in mid-July. Some plants are in light shade while others are in full sun and they do equally well in both locations, needing no care -- not even additional water. Unlike P. pulcherrimum and P. viscosum, P. pauciflorum behaves itself and stays contained in its alloted area. (Sent: Alpine-l@nic.surfnet.nl) (Click on the picture to enlarge) |
