Photographer: Jane Hendrix Note: Aconitum columbianum grows to a height of 48 inches in the wild, preferring wet, boggy soil in full sun to light shade. It is easy to grow in a cultivated garden in ordinary soil, producing multiple flower stalks with many more flowers per plant than in the wild. It self-sows gently and does not become a pest.
