1196 - AlpenPix (Garden) - 2007-01-11 (Dimension: 647 x 450 pixels - Counter: 4581) Cerastium tomentosum Photographer: Jane Hendrix Note: Snow-in-Summer; 4-7 inches; white with gray foliage; full sun; \"lean\", well-draining soil to maintain compact growth; blooms from early summer to early fall. Cerastium tomentosum can be a rampant pest under some garden conditions. I keep it under control in a hollowed-out stump filled with coarse soil. The stump has drainage holes to prevent root-rot.
