This tiny, annual Gentian is easily overlooked among the lush grasses and forbs of its alpine habitat. The flowers are extremely light-sensitive. Just passing your shadow over them will cause them to close up their petals. Photo taken at 12,600 feet on the Continental Divide, Summit County, Colorado in early July.
