Photographer: Jane Hendrix Note: Pedicularis bracteosa (Bracted Lousewort) is a local native, growing in our upper Montane spruce-fir forest. In the wild, it stands about 12 to 14 inches but in garden soil with no competition from trees, it grows to 30 inches. It's easy from seed, self-sows gently and needs no care once established. It blooms for me in late June/ (Sent: Alpine-l@nic.surfnet.nl) (Click on the picture to enlarge) |
