2725 - AlpenPix (Garden) - 2010-11-30 (Dimension: 1951 x 1615 pixels - Counter: 5520) Trollius pumilis Locality: China - Mountain View Experimental Gardens, Peak 7 area, Breckenridge, Colorado, elevation 10,000 feet, USDA Zone 4. Photographer: Jane Hendrix Note: A lovely, dwarf globeflower with crisp, dark green, attractively-cut foliage and flowers so intensely yellow they could be called gold. This charming species is easy to grow from seed. As with my other Trollius species, I have placed this diminutive species in my artificial bog garden where it seems to be very happy. It stands about 12 to 14 inches tall when its flowering stems are fully elongated, (Sent: Alpine-l@nic.surfnet.nl) (Click on the picture to enlarge) |
