Photographer: Jane Hendrix Note: This is a lovely native species that adapts well to a cultivated garden. In the wild, it grows to 18 inches in height but in the garden, it will attain a height of 40 inches and will produce many more large flowers per plant. It's easy from seed and self-sows gently. It's common name is "Daffodil Groundsel" because of its recurved ray flowers. It blooms in early July in my garden. (Sent: Alpine-l@nic.surfnet.nl) (Click on the picture to enlarge) |
