1552 - Penstemon (Garden) - 2009-05-16 (Dimension: 2030 x 1550 pixels - Counter: 7013) Penstemon yampaensis Photographer: Jim Hatchett Note: Pretty much the same sort of plant as P. acaulis. Both like it real dry in the summer. The main Pollinator seems to be ground nesting bees. Flowers don't last long as they are often pollinated before they are fully open. seeds take a few years to germinates after being tossed into the garden and the plants take a few years to flower after that.
