Aeonium
Photographer: Stephen Downes
Note: Pale green interior with pink crust. Photographed on a rock wall in a mountain pass on Gran Canaria (precisely: at the intersection of highways 21 and 230, by the large arch) at an altitude +500m. Exact species unknown - I can find anything that looks like it - if you recognize it, please email me. This is a very unusual specimen even if it is one of the usual varieties (like aeonium canariense), but not an isolated instance - a number of them were growing nearby, and can be seen in the background of the photo.

  • Note: Joerg Fuchs (2010-01-28) - It looks like Greenovia aurea at Tenerife. Please have a look to: http://www.fotoreiseberichte.de/teneriffa/teneriffa_pflanzen03.htm

  • Note: albert (2013-01-12) - no doubt is the Gr. aurea !!! is the only one you can find on Gr. Can.
    Greetings.
