(Uploaded as: Mezobromelia capituligera)
Locality: Venezuela - Lara -
Photographer: Matthias Asmuss
Note: this pic shows yellow flowers and is what we know as Me capituligera: didn't upload either where discussiion refers to pleiostciha / capituligera (Sent: brom-l@science.uu.nl)
Identification: Solved
- Identification: HEL (2012-08-15) =M. capituligera
- M. pleiosticha has very sharpely carinate floral bracts and less ovate pri. bracts that usually dont conceal the branches so well. Looks like a small one! (Sent: brom-l@science.uu.nl)
- Note: Matthias Asmuss (2012-08-16) - Thanks Harry, it is small because it's surviving in cultivation and it was a specimen thrown away by nature. My concern was more about upload 10112 that flowers now for the 2nd time in cultivation ... I am still trying to find a M. pleiosticha in nature. (Sent: brom-l@science.uu.nl)
- Identification: Eric Gouda (2012-08-16) =Mezobromelia sp.nov.
- Mezobromelia capituligera has white and relatively small flowers and is really a very large species. If this is Mezobromelia it is probably new. Try to make a herbarium specimen! I will post some details of M.capituligera (Sent: brom-l@science.uu.nl)
