Tillandsia confertiflora
(Uploaded as: Tillandsia comfertiflora)
Locality: Fremont - California - Grown in my back yard
Photographer: Wes Schilling
Note: This is in many collections in the greater San Francisco Bay Area, grown with this name and called a dwarf clone. It probably is not a true comfertiflora, so looking for identification. Spike out for a couple of months, but no flowers yet. (Sent: brom-l@nic.surfnet.nl)
Identification: Solved
- Identification (6116): HEL (2010-10-20) =Tillandsia confertiflora
- looks like the smaller form of T. confert. from southern Ecuador misnamed T. confinis var. minor. Larger plants from Colombia and Peru. (Sent: brom-l@nic.surfnet.nl)
- Note (6116): Wes Schilling (2010-10-20) - Harry, I can not find the misnamed T. confinis var minor on BSI Photos, only confinis var caudata, and like you say this looks very close to my pictures. Should the nomenclature be corrected somehow on this smaller clone listed in the BSI photos? (Sent: brom-l@nic.surfnet.nl)
