Verzamel locatie: Colombia - Valle de Cauca - east of San Jose Del Palmar, Coco Dept., near border with Valle de Cauca Dept. And Tatama National Park. Very wet west-facing cloud forest at approx. 6,000 feet/1,800 meters.

- Opmerking (11122): Eric Gouda (2013-10-01) - Pitcairnia guzmanioides would be a perfect name for this species, but it is not! It is maybe more close to G.archeri, but different again. I know Harry was working on a new species close to these, but it has not been published and I have not seen the specimen of it. Maybe this is it?
