- Opmerking: Peter Tristram (2013-07-18) - From Jeff - Peru, Alto Mayo area
- Opmerking: Jeffrey Kent (2013-07-18) - Identified by Harry Luther as truncata. I have collected this specie multiple times in Carchi Ecuador and in the Choco region of Colombia NW of Cali. Always between 1500-2000 meters. Nangaritza is much lower in altitude.
- Opmerking: Peter Tristram (2013-07-19) - Interesting, Jeff. Harry also id'd Bruce's Nargaritza plant that he also grew to bloom from seed. Maybe they are just variations of the same species. Yellow or white petals and size might not matter..
- Opmerking (11016): Eric Gouda (2013-07-22) - I would say T.asplundii which is less dense and pyramidal infl., T.truncata has a more cylindric inflorescence and is maller (not Tillandsia truncata var. major H.Luther ). There must be a difference in sepal length (15 vs 10 mm and ecarinate in T.Asplundi). Check this out. (Verzonden: brom-l@science.uu.nl)
- Opmerking (11016): Peter Tristram (2013-07-23) - Eric, fb 15-17mm, sepals always much longer than fb as per pic. Hint of a keel on the post. sep. Looks more asplundii to me esp. with the sepals far exceeding the fb and after checking the herbarium specimen scans. (Verzonden: brom-l@science.uu.nl)
