2192 - Woodland (Wild) - 2007-05-21 (Dimension: 2030 x 1550 pixels - Counter: 5337) Trillium luteum variation Photographer: Richard Vagner Note: This series of pictures were taken around Gatlinburg, Tennessee while visiting the extensive colonies of Trillium luteum that are found in this area. I have another series of pictures that show the variation in petal shapes which range from wide flat types to narrow twisted types. The leaves on another series range from narrow elongated to wide overlapping and from almost black to silver leafed types with no trace of mottling. In the local area almost any type of sessile Trillium characteristic can be found and as these pictures show almost all sessile colors can be found. (Click on the picture to enlarge) |
