Also before this at an elevation of 2658 meters, and finally several times later in the trip in Loja Province at an elevation of 3137 meters. Photographer: Jerry Raack Note: This 3rd picture is from high elevation in a dry valley just west of La Paz at 3137 meters. Note how dried the tips of the leaves are, yet it has a beautiful bloom. The actual blooming plant in picture 1 is also very dried out and in bad shape. The offsets from it are the plants that are the nice bright green color. (Click on the picture to enlarge) |
