- Add Note (1861): Harry Luther (2007-09-05) - Probably T. tovarensis but not mature enough to be certain.
- Add Note (1861): Walter Till (2007-09-05) - This is what I call T. maculata while Harry names it T. tovarensis. I am
stll not sure wether both are conspecific or not. - Add Note (1861): Mathias Asmuss (2008-02-06) - I have never seen T. maculata, but lots of T. tovarensis in Venezuela. The leaves do not match for the latter. Also consider it to be a developing T. denudata, at least it grows in Ecuador
- Add Note (1861): Eric Gouda (2008-05-07) - We have seen many different looking plants that we are now calling T. cf. maculata or T. cf. tovarensis. I have added a picture here of a drawing of T.maculata, but never seen a maculate plant like that in Ecuador. In certain areas the young plants has pale green leaves with black leaf-sheaths and in other areas the inner leaves have some faint spotting. We find plant with long branches and short spikes and short branches with longer spikes. What is clear is that some more research has to be done here to see what the variation is and to distinguish both species (or maybe more).
