- Note: Uncle Derek (2012-09-26) - The name seems close to correct. I think the odour is caused by fermenting nectar.A combination of nectar from previous flowers and water in the cup. This is why Neoregelia are not favourite Office plantings or in the dining room for any length of time (Sent: brom-l@science.uu.nl)
