- Note: Peter Bak (2013-03-15) - Do Not believe this is a catopsis sooner a mezobromelia or vriesea or even a tillandisa at this altitude (Sent: bromelia-l@science.uu.nl)
- Identification: Eric Gouda (2013-03-18) =Tillandsia spec.
- Interesting plant that seems to be close to T.violascens and T.coinaensis both from the Andes countries, but smaller. The petals are unknown, but it has very short sepals of 9.5 x 5.5 mm, elliptic and broadly rounded, evenly 1 mm connate and adaxial ones carinate (angled) at base. Floral bracts 19 x 9 mm, incurved and much exceeding the sepals. Probably a new species. (Sent: bromelia-l@science.uu.nl)
